概要

Optunaは、オープンソースのハイパーパラメータ自動最適化フレームワークです。このイベントでは、Optunaのコントリビュータやコミッタが参加者の皆様と一緒に、Optunaの開発を進めます。Discordを用いてワイワイ口頭で相談しながら、また静かにコミュニケーションしながらみんなで作業しましょう。

開発対象は今年度中に公開を予定しているOptuna version 3.0 (V3) の機能開発です。GitHub上でのPull Requestの作成とマージを目指します。Optuna V3の開発は10/11(月)にGitHub上にロードマップを公開してスタートしました。ロードマップに記載された各開発アイテム毎にV3ラベルが貼られたIssueが作成されているので、是非見てみてくださいね。

当日はDiscordに複数のVoice chat部屋を用意する予定です。部屋は開発アイテムのテーマ毎に分かれており、口頭でコミッタと相談しながら開発を進めることができます。

成果を共有したい人は、是非、懇親会でLTにチャレンジして下さい！

参加想定者

GitHubを使った開発を行ったことがある方。今回はOptuna V3の機能開発に絞ったタスクを行う予定です。コミュニケーションはGitHub上では英語で行いますが、Discord上ではコミッタと日本語または英語で行うことができます。

準備

開発スプリントはオンラインでDiscordを利用して行います。参加が確定した方には12/14(火)にOptuna Discordサーバーへのリンクをお送りいたしますので、当日までに参加をお願いします。

懇親会

開発の後にオンラインで懇親会があります。少人数で話せるVoice chat部屋を用意する予定です。他の参加者とコミュニケーションをとる良い機会ですので、ぜひご参加ください。また、希望者があれば、LT枠を設ける予定です。

Overview

Optuna is an open source hyperparameter optimization framework. At this event, Optuna contributors and committers will work with the participants to develop Optuna. Let's work together while chatting happily or quietly communicating on the Discord server.

The development target is Optuna version 3.0 (V3), scheduled to be released within this fiscal year. We aim to create and merge Pull Requests on GitHub. Development of Optuna V3 started on 10/11 (Monday) with the release of Roadmap on GitHub. Issues with a V3 label have been created for each development item listed on the roadmap, so please take a look.

We plan to have multiple Voice chat rooms on Discord. The rooms are divided according to the theme of the development item, and you can proceed with the development while consulting with the committer.

If you want to share your achievements, please try giving a Lightning Talk at the social gathering!

Desired participants

Those who have done development using GitHub. This time, we plan to focus on the feature development of Optuna V3. Communication is in English on GitHub, but you can communicate with committers in Japanese or English on Discord.

Preparation

Development sprints are done online using Discord. Those who have confirmed their participation will be sent a link to the Optuna Discord server on Dec 14 (Tuesday), so please participate by the day of the event.

Social gathering

There will be a get-together online after development. We are planning to prepare a Voice chat room where a small number of people can talk. This is a good opportunity to communicate with other participants, so please join us. In addition, if there is a request, we plan to set up a time for Lightning Talks.
